Brantley County offers modern educational facilities, exceptional teachers, and the materials needed to provide a quality education in an excellent learning environment. Enrollment at Brantley County's public secondary schools include approximately 3,300 students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Brantley County has elementary schools located in Nahunta, Hoboken, and Waynesville. Brantley County 7th and 8th graders attend Brantley
County Middle School, while Brantley County High School houses grades 9-12. The Blue Heron, native to swamps and lowlands in the area, serves as the mascot for both BCMS and BCHS.

Athletics |

2005-2006 has been a great year for our football players. One
stated, "Who would have thought that the defending AA State Champions would be in a three way tie with Brantley and Bacon?"
After week served during the season, Brantley was in a tie for the AA
championship. Brantley tied with Bacon County for second place.

According to figures compiled by the Centers for Disease Control, 366 people died in Brantley County in the years 1999-2001. The county death rate was 8 per thousand people, compared with 8 per thousand people statewide.
During the same period, 87 people died from cancer. The county death rate from cancer was 2 per thousand people, compared with 1.7 per thousand statewide.
A reported 18 people died in motor vehicle accidents. The average age of people living in Brantley County at the time of the 2000 census was 35.0, compared with 34.5 statewide and 36.2
nationwide.
Although Nahunta does not have a hospital, there are two just minutes
away. The Satilla Regional Medical Center is 20 miles away in Waycross, GA
and the Southeast Regional Medical Center approximately 40 minutes away.
There are various doctors offices, clinics, chiropractic, and dental offices
in Nahunta. For those mature adults needing assisted living, Nahunta is home
to the Bayview Nursing Home.
